About Us

Karreman Bros started from humble beginnings in 1970 when two brothers started hiring trucks and equipment to the Redland Shire Council during the day and carting to the Brisbane market at night. In 1974 they secured a contract to cart mineral sand for AMA on North Stradbroke Island.  Then in 1976 the Quarry on West Mount Cotton Rd was purchased from Tom and Betty Blunt, little did they know that this was the start of something big.

Years of hard work, long hours and many sacrifices, Karreman Quarries has grown substantially in to the successful family owned and operated business it is today. With around 120 Mack Trucks delivering various quarry products to South East Queensland from their Mount Cotton Quarry. A detailed list of all the machinery used at Mount Cotton can be found under the Transport & Equipment Tab.

We have recently taken delivery of our 400th Mack Truck. To honour the humble beginnings of then “Karreman Bros”, a very special and unique mural was designed for this milestone truck. Take a look at the Gallery Tab to view it. As of October 2017, a staggering 410 Mack Trucks have been purchased by Karreman’s.

In 1997 Karreman Quarries branched out in to the Brisbane Valley Region, utilising the resources in Harlin to supply rock and sand to the region. Please click on the Harlin tab for more information on this venture and where the future is headed for the Harlin division.

Karreman Quarries employ over 150 employees and pride themselves on loyalty and hard work. Head on over to our Honour Board tab to take a look at the employees that have reached significant years of employment.
